News: Maude A. Stewart Award

I was notified (via surprise zoom-bomb) on May 13th 2026 that I was selected as the 2026 recipient of the Maude A. Stewart Award. Recipients of this award demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, or innovation in the profession of Higher Education and Student Affairs. Their contributions may be in teaching, practice, or professional organizations.

I was legitimately surprised and thoroughly humbled at the recognition. Everyone who was able to join, those who shared kind words on the call, and those who sent their regrets, thank you. It made the day incredibly special. My OSU, UGA, and ISU worlds colliding was wild.

Special thanks to my cohort bestie Laura Fritz Greenlee for nominating me; Roshaunda Breeden for leading the surprise campaign; the Faculty of OSU HESA for your thoughtful & generous reflections/offerings to me. I am honored to be in great company with other awardees.

It’s kind of full circle to win this award 12 years after I completed the program; serving as a faculty member program coordinating in a Student Affairs M.Ed program trying my best to recreate the extraordinary student experience I received at OSU - SPA.

 As I stated on the call Ohio State will always be home and have a special place in my heart.
